What's the Opposite of "Sunbathing" ?

My guess is that it might be lying face down on mud in the pouring rainwhilst lowering a salinity meter down an open manhole into a sewer.Whilst I was doing the above it also occurred to me that I was coveringthe Rev. Dave's area whilst he was on holiday. It's quite likely that hewas lying face down on a beach in Tenerife in the blazing sun at thetime.

P...pick up a Ptarmigan

Have the Cairngorms changed since my last visit many moons ago I wondered.
Well there’s a bloody big train stuck onto the side of the hill for starters! Admittedly there was rather a lot of excavations and building shenanigans going on the last time I was there. Obviously I’d assumed that they were building a super-flume which would whisk you down from the Ptarmigan and deposit you in Loch Morlich for a refreshing dip. Alas no, another opportunity missed. This must be the only railway in the world when the people in anoraks were there before the trains!
Never mind.
KK, Rowan the wonderdog and myself headed up the ridge towards Cairngorm and the plateau. Then we wandered, more or less aimlessly up Ben Macdui, it doesn’t take much aiming to find the summit in golden autumnal sunshine…aye right!! We must have picked the only place with thick mist in the whole of Scotland yesterday! Blundered about along the corries, twisted my knee (whilst trying to demonstrate a Christine Aguelera dance – no honest, it’ll go down as a hillwalking injury statistic – oh the shame) and limped back to the car.
Still, sitting with my leg up and a glass of wine to ease the pain now, so not all bad.
Oh and we saw 21 Ptarmigan, half changed to white already, so that was the highlight.

The Greet Factor

After two weeks of watching the Viking Queen watching the X-Factor we'll have to send out for an artic load of tissues.
What is it about that show that melts the Viking?

Hope nobody is watching me watching her watching the show...sniff.
