Week Off

Two cows standing in a field. How do you tell which one is on holiday?
It's the one with the wee calf.

C'mon, the clue was in the title.

Well that's me at the end of a week that started with completing the wallpapering of the hall and stairs, had a wee bit of tiling in the middle, and ended with the Viking Queen choosing more wallpaper in B&Q this afternoon.
This is not a good way to be finishing your hols, to be going shopping for more wallpaper I mean.

I did manage out to Coire Lair with KK and Rowan on Tuesday to enjoy a fine afternoon on the hills. Unfortunately I walked my boots to death. My favourite Demon boots which I've had for about 10 years, have covered hundreds of hill miles, have been re-soled once and were as comfy as slippers just disintegrated under me on the way up into the corrie. By the time we got back to the car the heels of both boots had just disappeared and the front of my right boot was flapping. Odd how they both just fell apart on the same walk after years of sterling service.
Talking of service maybe I should have the Rev Dave say a few words at their passing, they were almost part of the family after all.

Well I'm not back at work until Tuesday so I'm hoping to get out and about on Monday. There's an interesting looking loch in the Contin woods that I noticed on the map. A good excuse to break in my new boots I reckon. I've no idea what the weather forcast is for Monday but its been pretty wet all week so I can probably look forward to a drenching.

Mind you if I'm lucky I'll end up with a wee cough!
