Happy New Year...
...to everyone.
There's no doubt that Christmas and New Year are always worth looking forward to, but to be honest I'm always a little glad when they're past. It would be better if the two events didn't run into one another. Perhaps we should try celebrating Christmas on Christ's birthday sometime, instead of on 25th Dec? Just a thought.
Lots of family staying over at Christmas. Lots of food glorious food. I think that we all managed to follow tradition and eat our own body weights in scoff.
Then friends stayed over at Hogmonay. We balanced the overeating thing out nicely by drinking our own body weights this time.
Good laugh all around, and everyone was very impressed with Strath's impromptu firework display at the bells.
Back to work now, and its nice to get into a routine again.
Work pattern has been Christmas weekend, followed by two days off. Three days on, then New Year weekend, another two days off, another three at work and then it'll be the weekend again. Well I suppose its a routine of sorts.
Of course things wont be completely back to normal until the Viking Queen allows the bloody Christmas tree to be taken down. What is it with Shetlanders and trees?
Oh yes... I remember.
